First Person Viewpoint (FPV) is an independent interactive-fiction project. The website provides information, downloads, development notes, and links to the project's source code.
2. Open-source license
The source code is made available under the license published with the project repository. Where the repository states AGPL-3.0-or-later, your rights to use, modify, and redistribute that source code are governed by that license.
These website terms do not replace the open-source license for source code covered by it.
3. Using the application
You may use FPV for lawful purposes. You are responsible for the prompts, stories, files, models, API credentials, and other content or services you choose to use with the application.
Do not use the project in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of other people.
4. Local models and external services
FPV is designed to support local-first use. If you connect a third-party AI service, model host, download source, or other external service, your use of that service is also subject to its own terms and policies.
FPV does not control third-party services and cannot guarantee their availability, pricing, behavior, or data practices.

FPV is provided as an evolving project. Features may change, break, be removed, or behave differently between releases.
You should keep backups of important worlds, stories, exports, and configuration files.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the project maintainer is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from your use of FPV, third-party models, external APIs, or downloaded builds.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Project content and trademarks
Unless otherwise stated, the FPV name, website copy, visual identity, and project-specific artwork are not automatically granted under the software license merely because the source code is open source.
Third-party names, logos, and services belong to their respective owners.

These terms may be updated as FPV evolves. The updated date at the top of this page indicates the latest published revision.
